Frugal Paleo's Homemade Poultry Broth

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I just finished an awesome batch of poultry broth. I have to say after this one, I'm much more of a fan of beef broth. It has a richer flavor but this one is still great.

Frugal Paleo's Homemade Poultry Broth

-Approx. 1.5lb Turkey necks and back (purchased at Whole Foods)

-Approx. 1.5-2lb Duck necks and back (purchased at Whole Foods)

-2 cloves of garlic chopped

-1 sprig of dill

-1 bunch rosemary

-1 bunch of thyme

-1 bunch of sage

-3 tbsp Redman's Real Salt

-2-3 qt of filtered water

-1/4 cup unfiltered apple cider vinegar

 

I browned the bones until golden in a 350 degree oven. I use a 5.5qt Slow Cooker. I turn it on high until the broth starts to bubble. I then turn it down to low for a minimum of 8-10 hours or until it's a convenient time for me to bottle it. This time I let it go for 17 hours. Enjoy!
